We offer beginning and intermediate youth sailing during the school year for youth organizations, school groups, after-school programs and scouting troops.
Students have fun learning an outdoor skill, while developing self-confidence, patience, observation, and teamwork skills. Students sail in pairs in our fleet of wooden El Toros, and learn the fundamentals of sailing.
Our youth sailing programs do not require a swim test. The first day of class includes a capsize drill, where students learn how to flip and right the boats they’ll be sailing.
Below registration is for open enrollment. If you are a school administrator or teacher and would like to schedule a sailing class specifically for your group, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
OPEN ENROLLMENT YOUTH BEGINNING AND INTERMEDIATE SAILING:
In this class beginning and intermediate sailors learn basic theory and terminology to build a foundation of skills. Learn and practice tacking, jibing, sail trim, weight balance and capsize recovery, as well as teamwork, communication, observation and patience. Youth sail in teams of two in our 8′ El Toros. No Experience Necessary. Intermediate students will sail solo, beginners will sail in teams of 2.
