SLU LIVERY ATTENDANT
Full and Part Time Seasonal. Mid April-End of September
The Livery Attendant is responsible for the safe and functional operation of CWB’s rental boats including rowboats, sailboats, canoes, kayaks, and stand up paddle boards. The Livery Attendant reports to the Waterfront Operations Manager or to the designated on-site Livery Manager and will work with other staff and volunteers to provide a safe and educational visitor experience to our customers and community members.
Responsibilities include helping customers choose an appropriate boat, assisting in rigging or rowing instruction, recognizing and correcting unsafe operating practices, and operating a motorized safety boat. Livery Attendants also help with boat maintenance when time allows, which can be as simple as replacing lines and painting to as technical custom carpentry. The Livery Attendant will receive training in CWB’s Safety Management System as part of their on-boarding including instruction on safety boat handling as they are responsible for responding to on-the-water emergencies.
We have seasonal full-time and part-time positions available. Possession of a Washington State Boater ID card is required for this position.
Other responsibilities include:
Use of the Altru POS system to run credit card and cash transactions
Share the history of CWB’s small craft with the public
Supervise and train Livery volunteers
Work with waterfront staff to set up and take down the Wooden Boat Festival docks, ramps, structures, signage, etc.
Other duties as assigned
Sailing experience/ knowledge of handling small boats
Experience driving/handling small motor boats
Customer Service experience
Woodworking/boat maintenance skills
General comfort/experience on the water/ moving around on boats
CPR / First Aid training
