Cheryl Garcia
Accountant & Human Resources
“I’m not a sailor but I know how lucky I am to have joined this progressive community of dedicated and passionate staff, supportive and respectful management and simply amazing volunteers and members. To be surrounded by the creativity, kindness and a certain wackiness that exists at CWB is a blessing everyone should have.”
Cheryl was a Legal Administrator for 20 years and a distribution company’s Operations Manager for 13 years before changing her career focus and arriving at CWB in early 2019. She thought the move would make her work life would be more peaceful! Man plans and God laughs.
As a child of deaf parents and hailing from the San Francisco bay area, Cheryl moved to Seattle in the late 70’s to be an instructor for the Seattle Cascades Drum & Bugle Corps color guard. Over the next 25 years, she worked with area youth organizations and high schools teaching within their marching programs. Although she has retired from it, this activity remains her passion and is how she met her husband, a drumline instructor for a rival corps.
Cheryl lives in Kenmore with her husband and a large assortment of dogs and cats.
