FAMILY DROP-IN ACTIVITIES
There’s something for everyone at The Center for Wooden Boats! We have a variety of activities, programs, and classes that cover all ages and abilities of our community.
Adults and families can have fun learning together on the water through our signature sailing programs. With options for private lessons, flexible scheduling, and a range of courses from beginner to intermediate, sailing at The Center for Wooden Boats is fun and accessible for people of all ages and abilities.
LEARN TO SAIL
Begin a lifetime of sailing by learning basic boat handling skills in one of our beginning sailing courses. Whether you want to take an intensive multi-week session or focus on brushing up your skills, our learn to sail programs are flexible enough to meet your needs.
EXPAND YOUR SKILLS
Racing: Lake Union hosts a vibrant racing community. Join the fun by refining your skills in strategy, tactics, rules, and boat handling.
Cruising: Puget Sound is home to some of the world’s best cruising. Take advantage of it by honing your navigation skills and earning your US Sailing Basic Keelboat certification.
Enjoy UNLIMITED rentals of sail, row, pedal, and paddle boats both on Lake Union and at CWB’s saltwater site at Cama Beach (motorboat rentals not included). Sneak down for a lunchtime paddle, enjoy a summer row on Saratoga Passage or spend your Sundays sampling sailboats, all with one great pass! Please note that livery passes are only available to CWB members.

Unlimited boat use (except motorboats) for 365 days from date of purchase.
HOUSEHOLD PASS “YEAR-ROUND BOATING FOR TWO”
Unlimited boat use (except motorboats)
for two members of a household; valid for 365 days from date of purchase. Pass holders may rent 2 boats at the same time.
BUILD A BOAT
Experience the joys of partaking in hands-on craftmaking by building a wooden boat! Specialized courses guide students through each step - with expert craftsmen at the helm.
LEARN A NEW SKILL
It’s never too late to take that wood shop class you’ve always wanted. At CWB, a variety of woodworking opportunities are available to you.
BE A WELL-ROUNDED SAILOR
Take courses on a variety of topics that every smart boater should know. These classes are offered throughout the year and include topics such as basic navigation, weather, engine maintenance & necessary knots.
For all course registrations, including youth classes, the following cancellation policy applies. For private sailing lessons and boatbuilding classes, the cancellation policy outlined at the time of booking and in the confirmation email is enforced.
• Cancellation/change outside of 45 days = full refund less $15 admin fee.
• Cancellation/change within 45-7 days prior to start date = a $15 admin fee and tuition credit for the remaining amount towards a course within the same calendar year. There is no refund.
• Cancellation/change within 7 days of start date = 50% tuition credit of course fee available towards a course within the same calendar year.
• No refund or credit available after the class has started
In case of emergency or insufficient number of registrations, CWB reserves the right to cancel a course and refund the participants in full.
Because of this policy, we strongly urge you to buy refundable airline tickets or flight insurance. CWB will not be responsible for any loss on non-refundable airline tickets.
