Pond Boat Rentals

Pond Boats in Lake Union ParkLake Union Park features a two foot deep, 100 foot wide model boat pond. This pond is one of only a handful in the country, and is open to the public year-round. All types of boats are welcome in the pond, with the exception of gas-powered hydroplanes. Bring your own model boat or borrow one of ours! CWB is proud to help bring the park to life.

Every Saturday and Sunday from 11am - 2pm, CWB carts out a fleet of model boats for the public to rent and enjoy. Pond boats are a great way to learn about the basics of sailing and the physics of lift. This makes for a terrific activity for families and children, but is great for all ages. 

Suggested Donation: $5 per family per hour

Also, thanks to the support of a corps of monthly volunteers, CWB is able to offer pond boat sailing for FREE on the first Saturday of every month from 11am - 2pm.

For groups larger than 6 (of any age), we ask that you coordinate a specific time to bring your group down outside the regularly scheduled activities for the public.  This helps assure your group has access to the boats.  Please email Mindy at mross@cwb.org to reserve pond boat sailing time.  $175/event for up to 24 participants.  CWB provides 12 pond boats, sailing instruction and a fun activity for one-two hour program.
