Position Title:  Boat Sales Manager (Part Time)

Program Overview:  Boat Sale Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of CWB’s boat acquisition and re-sale program. Responsibilities include interacting with donors, buyers, CWB volunteers and the CWB Collection Committee. Manager is responsible for entire sales cycle from the initial contact with donor through the sale of the boat or its accession into the collection.  This is a part-time position requiring approximately 8-12 hours of work per week.  

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high quality customer service. This includes being active in the donor and buyer relationship throughout the entire donation or purchase process, as well as coordinating with CWB staff to keep website relevant and up-to-date.
  • Ensure all legal paperwork is timely, accurate and complete for each transaction.  This includes compliance with both Washington State Department of Licensing and IRS regulations, as well as internal CWB processes.
  • Coordinate team of volunteers to help with the donation and sales process. Including the following tasks:
  1. Boat pick up and delivery (limited to Puget Sound Region)
  2. Prepping a boat for sale including cleaning the boat, taking photo images for web listings, and displaying signage.
  3. Maintaining boats once they are at CWB including cleaning and necessary repairs.
  4. Showing the vessel to prospective donors
  5. Identifying vessels for collection

  • Serve as back up for all the above volunteer tasks when volunteers are not available.
  • Coordinate as needed with other staff members that interact/support the boat sales process including front desk staff, volunteer coordinator, wharf/livery manager, development assistant and finance manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable about boats
  • Experience working with volunteers and/or project management
  • Previous sales experience desired
  • Captain’s license a definite plus
