Family Programs
Activity Chests
Check out an activity chest for your family to use in Cama Beach State Park. Interactive games provide opportunities for youth to explore the worlds of sailors and ship-board naturalists. All while having fun! Available for check out in the Boatman's House.
Toy Boat Building
Young in years or young at heart, come and enjoy creative toy boat building, one of CWB’s most popular activities for kids and parents alike. We provide masts, hulls, sails, and traditional hand tools. You just bring the vision! Contact us at cama@cwb.org to learn more.
School Programs
We provide hands-on educational opportunities for a variety of age groups and curricular needs. Our programs use our maritime environment and classic wood boats to engage students in the Pacific Northwest’s unique culture, history and the natural world. Many of the programs we offer at South Lake Union can be scheduled at Cama Beach. Contact us to find out more about our programs or to plan a program.
Field Trips
Our field trips allow educators to bring groups to The Center for Wooden Boats for adventure on the water paired with hands-on learning. Field trips at CWB at Cama can include beach walks, learning about the history of boat building and more! Contact us to plan a trip.
Out-of-School Programs
Job Skills Training Program
The Center for Wooden Boats is excited to announce the pilot
year of our Job Skills Training Program, thanks to funding from the Russell
Grinnell Family Foundation. This October, CWB at Cama Beach will welcome 4
young adults from low-income or underserved backgrounds as Job Skills Trainees.
They will gain hands-on woodworking experience helping with the maintenance of
our fleet of historic of wooden boats, learn on-the water boat handling skills,
and finally get a chance to apply their boat building skills by assisting in
the construction of a traditional wooden boat.
