Job Opening - Field Trip Coordinator

Position Title:  Youth Educator/Field Trip Coordinator

Program Overview:  Come join a great team of youth educators on Lake Union at the urban community center/boat restoration workshop/hands-on-history museum that is The Center for Wooden Boats (CWB).  CWB’s Youth Programs use the marine environment and classic wooden boats to engage students in the Pacific Northwest’s unique culture, history and environment.  This position is responsible for the success of all aspects of CWB’s hands-on history field trips.

Responsibilities:
•    Responsible for the safe operation of the summer youth field trip programs
•    Plan and lead hands-on field trips for groups of 10-75 students using CWB’s curriculum and evaluation
•    Work with teachers and leaders at schools and youth organizations to coordinate field trips for youth ages 3-18
•    Maintain up-to-date program calendar
•    Stock and maintain classroom and field trip tools and supplies
•    Work with the Education Director to evaluate and improve the program

Required Qualifications
:
•    1 year experience working with youth in a hands-on experiential learning setting
•    1 year experience on the water with boats
•    Current CPR and First Aid certifications
•    Ability to problem solve, work independently and as a team member
•    Sailing experience and a passion for getting kids in boats, a plus

Job Details:
•    Dates: May 31st – August 31st, 2010
•    Position is part-time, approximately 20 hours/week
•    Salary: $10-13/hour DOE
