The Center for Wooden
Boats is a museum and a resource for information about wooden boats, how to
build them and maintain them, and maritime skills in general. We do get lots
of requests for information and we do our best to respond to them as quickly
as possible. Fortunately for on-line users, there is a wealth of shared information
available from both pros and talented amateurs on the internet. Some of these

Vessels
- Martha
B.B. Crowninshield's
classic yacht sails Puget Sound. The Schooner Martha Foundation offers sail
training programs for youths (ages 12-18) as well as charters and trips
for adults.

Washington
A full-scale replica of the first Amerian vessel to explore the Pacific
Northwest Coast.

Endeavour
A replica of the vessel used in 1768 by Lieutenant James Cook, RN, as he
set sail on a voyage of exploration and scientific investigation.

Starting in January, 2006, a stunningly beautiful new vehicle license plate became available to Washington motorists. Sale of the Washington Lighthouses special plate will give an enormous boost to the restoration of our state's lighthouses that are kept open to the public. It will also help support environmental education in Island County, which developed the prototype of the Beach Watcher program currently expanding throughout Puget sound.
