

Come join a great team of youth educators on Lake Union at the urban community center/boat restoration workshop/hands-on-history museum that is The Center for Wooden Boats (CWB). By teaching sailing in classic wooden 8' El Toro prams, the Youth Sailing Program aims to develop 9 - 15 year old students' self-confidence and foster skills in observation, decision-making, and leadership. The majority of classes are at the beginning level.
Instructor Responsibilities: Youth Sailing Instructor responsibilities include lesson planning, using our existing curriculum, teaching alone and with a co-instructor, ensuring a high level of safety for all activities, mentoring high school intern instructors, helping to maintain powerboats, the El Toro fleet, and the classroom through weekly clean-up, and working with the Youth Sailing Program Manager to evaluate and improve the program.
Qualifications: Previous experience teaching sailing, US Sailing Instructor Level 1 Certification, and up-to-date CPR and first-aid required.
