The Family Boatbuilding Project

A whole new way for families to have fun together on the water, make new friends and sail like bandits!

Under the guidance of a professional boatwright and assisted by CWB’s volunteers, families will build the Union Bay Skiff, a simple but great plywood sail boat designed by local boatwright, Brad Rice. We'll supply everything needed to build the boat and we'll launch all the boats at the end of the event! The boat is capable of carrying two people.

Families will take their boats home for painting and miscellaneous finish work. Student/family limit depends on location. No previous woodworking experience required.
