do you find CWB?
The Center for Wooden Boats is located at the south end of Lake Union at 1010
Valley Street, Seattle, WA 98109. You can take a virtual tour by visiting

Are you open to the public?
Yes! The Center for Wooden Boats is open to the public.
Our 2007/2008 hours of operation are:
Sept. 4 - Nov. 4, 2007 -- Open every day -- 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Nov. 5 , 2007 - March 20, 2008 -- Tuesday - Sunday -- 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
March 21 - May 23 -- Open every day -- 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
May 24 - Sept. 1 -- Open every day -- 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Sept. 2 - Oct. 27 -- Open every day -- 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Is this a private club?
No, you do not have to be a member to participate in our programs, to visit
our docks, or rent a boat. If you would like to support our programs, receive
our monthly newsletter, and receive discounts at CWB and marine outfitters
in Seattle, or participate in members-only events, membership is encouraged.

Is this a wooden boat restoration business?
No, we are a museum which restores wooden boats. We do offer classes in boat
restoration, and there are volunteer opportunities to work on boats. Our boat
shop manager is always willing to entertain your questions about boat restoration.
You are welcome to visit our shop and inquire!

Can I rent a boat?
Yes, you can rent boats at CWB through our livery.

When can I rent a boat?
Our boat rental (Livery) hours for 2007/2008 are:
Sept. 4 - Nov. 4, 2007 -- Daily -- 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Nov. 5, 2007 - March 15, 2008 -- Tuesday - Sunday -- Noon - dusk -- Please make an appointment Tuesday - Friday
March 17 - May 23 --
Daily -- Noon - 6:00 p.m.
May 25 - Sept. 1 --
Daily -- Noon - 8:00 p.m.
Sept. 2 - Oct. 27 -- Daily -- Noon - 6:00 p.m.
During the winter, please make an appointment Tuesday through Friday.
Since our boats are museum pieces and we want to keep them safe, boat rentals will be suspended whenever the wind speed exceeds 12 knots or the livery manager deems that conditions warrant suspension. At certain times of the year, we close our livery for special events.

Can I charter a boat?
No, we do not charter boats; we do, however, offer free public sails Sunday
afternoons at 2 pm. They are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can I learn to sail?
Yes, The Center for Wooden Boats offers two programs to learn to sail: One-on-One

Do you rent power boats?
The Center for Wooden Boats does not rent our power
boats.
10.
What's your plan for the big schooner?
The "big schooner" Wawona is owned by our neighbor, the Northwest Seaport.
